Miguel Sepuveda is a seasoned marine biologist and seaweed farming specialist with a Master's degree from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), Brazil. With over three decades of international experience, he has led seaweed mariculture initiatives across Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean-including Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Tunisia, Mozambique, and Zanzibar. Miguel has played a pivotal role in establishing seaweed farming programs for both fishing communities and private enterprises, often serving as a technical consultant on seaweed cultivation and its industrial applications. His expertise spans seaweed farming project design, factory installation, and sustainable resource management. Miguel has authored multiple scientific publications and governmental reports and has served in academic roles including as a professor of marine algae. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with working knowledge of French, he currently operates from Morocco and Brazil through his consultancy, Seaweed Consulting, promoting ocean-based solutions for sustainable development.
